TTC & Infertility Therapy in Nashville, TN
Support for women and couples trying to conceive or facing infertility struggles
When Growing Your Family Isn’t Going the Way You Hoped
Trying to conceive can be one of the most emotionally intense experiences you'll go through. Whether you're in your first month of trying or years into the journey, the space between hope and uncertainty is exhausting. You're not alone in feeling that way, and you don't have to carry it all on your own.
At Healing House Nashville, we offer specialized therapy for individuals and couples navigating the stress, grief, and relational strain that often come with trying to conceive. Our dedicated TTC therapist, Amanda, is trained in perinatal mental health and she works with clients across Tennessee both in-person and online.
Whether you’re in the first few months of trying or carrying years of fertility struggles, I’m here to support you through a season that can feel overwhelming, confusing, or isolating. For many good reasons, we often choose not to share our TTC journey with loved ones, leaving us to navigate the unknown in isolation. You deserve a safe space where you don’t have to worry about the other person’s feelings, personal hopes, or judgments.
Amanda is a doula and therapist specializing in perinatal mental health, including pregnancy, postpartum, fertility stress, pregnancy loss, and birth trauma. She works with adults in person in Nashville and across Tennessee via telehealth.
What makes specialized TTC therapy different?
General therapy is great, but fertility challenges come with their own emotional landscape. The waiting, the hormones, the medical appointments, the financial stress — it's a lot. Working with someone who understands the specific rhythms of TTC means you don't have to explain the basics. You can just show up and talk about what's actually happening.
Supporting you and your relationship
Pregnancy, postpartum, and fertility challenges can also place strain on your relationship. Amanda also offers couples therapy and can support you in navigating communication breakdowns, disconnection, or conflict that often shows up during this season.
Does my TTC experience really warrant therapy?
This therapy is for anyone trying to conceive — whether you're doing it on your own, with a partner, or with medical support. It's also for those who have experienced pregnancy loss and need a space to grieve. We work with people at every stage of the fertility journey, and you don't need a specific diagnosis to reach out.
Clients we help include:
People planning to start trying and wanting to be at their best emotionally
Those just in the beginning stages, already feeling the weight of it
Anyone carrying the fear that it just isn't going to work
Couples carrying the individual weight of self-blame or pressure
Someone trying again after a loss, wondering if they can survive another letdown
People who just got a diagnosis of infertility and don't know what to do next
Individuals or partners navigating different levels of readiness or hope
Those who have been TTC for years and are wondering what comes next
No matter where you are in the process, you deserve a space where you don't have to perform optimism.
What is Therapy for TTC & Infertility Like?
TTC therapy is a space to process the emotional weight of fertility challenges — the waiting, the disappointment, the tension with your partner, and the way it can take over your identity. It's not about "staying positive" or fixing anything. It's about having a place where you can be honest about how hard this is, without someone trying to cheer you up.
In sessions, we might talk through what's actually happening in your body and your brain during the two-week wait, and how to survive it without losing your mind. We might look at how you and your partner are showing up differently — one of you holding hope, the other protecting themselves from disappointment — and find ways to get on the same team again. We might unpack the grief that shows up around baby showers, pregnancy announcements, or family holidays, and how to set boundaries that protect your heart without blowing up your relationships.
Some sessions are heavier. We sit with the loss, the fear, the anger at your body, the exhaustion of another negative test. Other sessions are more practical — we talk through how to talk to your doctor, how to decide whether to keep going or pause, how to handle the next round of treatment. Sometimes we just name what you're carrying so it stops living in your chest.
There's no agenda other than what you need that day. You don't have to perform hope, and you don't have to have it figured out. You just have to show up.
What Many of Us Never Say Out Loud
There's a lot that goes unsaid when you're trying to conceive. Maybe you don't want to sound ungrateful, or negative, or like you're not handling it well. Maybe you're just tired of explaining. But those quiet thoughts deserve a place to land. If any of these feel familiar, you're not broken — you're human.
"I'm terrified that it's never going to happen for us"
"I feel like my body is betraying me every single month"
"I can't stop googling symptoms and fertility signs"
"I feel jealous of every pregnancy announcement, and then guilty for feeling jealous"
"I don't know how to tell my partner I'm losing hope"
"I feel like everyone else gets pregnant so easily, and I don't know why we can't"
"I'm exhausted by all the advice from people who mean well but don't get it"
"I'm scared to let myself get excited, because it's hurt too many times before"
You don't have to carry these thoughts alone. They’re exactly the kind of thing we talk about in TTC therapy.
How Therapy with Amanda can help:
Coping with the emotional toll of the two-week wait
Navigating grief around negative pregnancy tests or early loss
Processing the rollercoaster of fear, hope, and disappointment
Finding purpose and meaning while navigating the unknown
Communicating with your partner about how to best support one another
Setting boundaries around well-meaning (but painful) questions from family and friends
Reconnecting with the sense of self that may feel lost to TTC
Working through what’s left unsaid with your partner
Making decisions about next steps, like fertility treatments or donor options
Processing the impact of infertility on your sense of self, your body, and your relationship
A note on timing
Many people wait until things feel unmanageable before reaching out, but therapy can also be helpful anywhere within the TTC process. This doesn’t mean you can’t handle it, it means this process is important to you and you want to be fully present for it.
If something in you is saying “this feels harder than I expected” or “I don’t feel like myself,” that is enough of a reason to start.
