Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents Weekly Support Group

Purpose

This is a peer coaching and support group, not therapy. I'm not providing counseling, diagnosis, or treatment. This group is a space to explore patterns, share experiences, and support one another, but it doesn't replace individual therapy or professional mental health care.

If you're in crisis, in danger, or need immediate support, this group isn't the place to get it. Please reach out to emergency services (call 911) or a crisis line (988) instead.

Risks Of The Group Experience

You may hear things that are triggering. Other members' stories can bring up your own pain, sometimes unexpectedly. It may be distressing to unpack difficult experiences, and it may be distressing to be vulnerable and share. That discomfort is often part of the work, but you're always in control of how much you share, and you can pass on any question or exercise.

Privacy and confidentiality

I take privacy seriously, but confidentiality cannot be guaranteed in a virtual group. I can't control what other members do with what they hear, and online platforms carry their own security risks. I'll hold what you share in confidence within the limits of the law, including mandatory reporting requirements. I am obligated by law as a mandatory reporter to break confidentiality and inform the appropriate governing bodies if anything shared implies suspected child/elder abuse, implies that you may be a danger to yourself or someone else, or if I am ever subpoenaed in a court of law. You are welcome to use a pseudonym and/or keep your camera off during meetings.

Fees

The fee is $30 per session, payable in advance when you sign up for the group. You agree to this fee and to the cancellation policy below when you register for this group.

Cancellation policy

The group fee is non-refundable once it is paid, even if you purchase multiple sessions at once and later cannot make one or more. I don’t think it’s fair to judge whose reasons for missing count as true emergencies and whose do not, as we all have different definitions of what constitutes an emergency and mine should not outweigh yours. Therefore, I do not make exceptions for any reason.

Please do not register until you are sure you can attend. If this is your first group, please do not purchase multiple groups until you know this is a good fit for you. You may gift your spot to another person if you are unable to attend. Please also ensure you have a strong wifi signal and connection. Refunds will not be given if you are unable to join or have a poor experience due to personal technical issues.
