Group Agreement

Group expectations will be reviewed at the start of each meeting. Any disrespect, harassment, or breach of confidentiality will be grounds for immediate removal from the group. For group protocols not related to respect or safety, it’s okay if it takes a moment to adjust. I will provide reminders and address if group norms aren’t being followed. Repeated issues with respecting group protocol may also result in removal.

Respect

In this group, respect is a non-negotiable. Please respect differences in religion, culture, life experience, and personal choices about how to navigate family dynamics. Please consider not only your intention, but also the impact of your words and how they may be received.

How to share

Please remain on mute unless talking. Use the Google Meet feature to “raise your hand” and wait to be called on before unmuting.

Please do not interrupt or jump in when another person is sharing.

If needed, time limits for sharing will be laid out at the beginning of the meeting. Please honor these limits and be mindful of how much you are talking in comparison to other group members, leaving plenty of space for others to share during groups as well. Silence between shares allows others time to reflect and share, even though it can feel very awkward.

Please keep topics relevant to the group and only share stories that are your own, not second-hand. Before sharing anything graphic or potentially triggering, please give a trigger warning (e.g., "this involves details of abuse") so others can prepare or step away.

Confidentiality

What's said here stays here. Please ensure you are listening/watching from a confidential space and don't share others' stories outside the group. Recording or screenshots are not permitted.

Responding

Please do not give unsolicited advice. The primary purpose of this group is to offer support, not solutions, unless requested.
